Creating Community in a Quarantine Culture

Community? In Quarantine?

God’s Word encourages us to be in community with one another, to bear one another’s burdens, to lift one another up, to hold one another accountable — to cultivate in-depth relationships with one another. But how do you build deep, meaningful relationships with others during a pandemic? What are some steps you can take to get out there and start forming these relationships? Tune into this podcast with my good friend, Justine, as we discuss building community as a single woman in the midst of a pandemic.

About Justine

Justine B. is a Michigan native and a 2016 Memphis Teacher Residency graduate. She works as an ESL (English as a Second Language) teacher who is passionate about teaching and nurturing immigrant and refugee children and young adults. As she seeks to equip her students to navigate and positively impact our increasingly complex society, she also challenges herself to live a Gospel-centered life while tackling social issues prevalent in our society today.

When she’s not teaching, Justine enjoys running (catch her at the St. Jude marathons!), reading, having deep conversations and eating her favorite food — ICE CREAM!

In this episode, I ask Justine:

  • How do you define “community”?
  • As a single woman, is marriage/family something you’re thinking about?
  • How do you create community during pandemic conditions?
  • In what ways have you been experiencing a lack of community and how have you responded to that?
  • How has God been directing you to community in this season of your life?
